Serene Salutations

"Serene Salutation" is a captivating oil on canvas piece, measuring 24"x24"x1.5". The artwork transports the viewer to a tranquil natural setting, where a marsh with tall green grasses becomes the stage for an elegant scene. A graceful egret is beautifully depicted in mid-flight above the dense grasses, its wings extended in a mesmerizing display. The scene also includes a serene body of water, casting a perfect reflection that mirrors the partly cloudy sky. The sky itself transitions seamlessly from bright blue to soft gray hues, illustrating the ethereal beauty of dawn or dusk.

The lighting in the painting is gentle, suggesting the fleeting moments of early morning. This creates a calming and peaceful ambiance, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect. The inspiration for this serene landscape stems from an early morning kayak trip on the intracoastal waterway, where the vibrant contrasts of bright green grasses, aqua sky, and violet storm clouds left a lasting impression. The presence of a great white egret reacting to the movement of the kayak, while other egrets calmly search for their breakfast in the background, adds an element of dynamic stillness to the piece.
