Time for Work

Time for Work
Victory! All of this time that I've been working to create art and have fun has boosted my spirits, and I'm feeling light hearted! I hope some of the creative efforts of artists have lifted your spirits too. That's what original art can do for you in your home or office. I have a few pieces of art from artist friends in my studio, and I smile and think of those people when I spy their handy work. I even have some giclees of my work that I've gifted, and they brighten my day too as I think of the people who own them. Treat yourself!
Time for Work is an 11" x 14" x 1.5" oil that I'm introducing this week. I usually paint boats on a bigger scale, but this one just wanted to be small! A softer palette for me, but I enjoy that early morning play of light. Although the sky catches your attention, the shrimper and gulls are obviously center of attraction, but I thought allowing them to blend into the water and darker cloud gave the sky importance Now most landscape or seascape artists would tell you that the painting needs to be about the land/water or the sky and not both. So was I successful by splitting the importance of my areas? Let me know what you think! I love feedback!
